Pritchard grow-op busted, suspected foreign national found tending grow.

The Chase RCMP and the Canadian Border Services Agency continue their investigation into last week’s marijuana Grow Op bust in Pritchard, BC on March 25th, 2010. 48 year old foreign national Hung Chan appeared at the Kamloops courts on March 29, on drug related charges. Chan remains in custody.
On Thursday March 25th, members of the Chase RCMP executed a search warrant at a seemingly non-descript residence in the 1600 block of Martin Prairie Road in Pritchard, BC. Police discovered and dismantled a marijuana growing operation and seized over 600 plants. A theft/diversion of electricity was also discovered.
The grow operation was a sophisticated ongoing commercial criminal enterprise and had been in operation for some time. An adult male was arrested in the residence. 48 year old Hung Chan appeared at the Kamloops courts on March 29 on drug related charges of production of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and theft of hydro. This grow operation had several indicators of organized crime involvement.
The Chase RCMP are working with the Canada Border Services Agency on this matter with Mr. Chan remaining in custody while CBSA authorities investigate his status in Canada.
