Revelstoke, unusual driving leads to drug seizure

Revelstoke RCMP.

A late night traffic stop has lead to a seizure of marijuana and cocaine. At approximately 11:15 p.m. on April 15th, 2010, a patrolling officer observed a small white pickup all of a sudden turn its headlights on and then make a u-turn.

The vehicle was pulled over on Airport Way near Cartier Road. Besides the officer smelling a marijuana odour coming from the truck, it was determined that the 20 year old male driver from Revelstoke was driving while he was prohibited.

The driver was arrested and a subsequent search of the vehicle located 12 grams of marijuana, 11 grams of cocaine along with scales, empty baggies and a small amount of cash.

The driver will appear in Revelstoke Provincial Court on August 5th, 2010 to answer to the charges of drive while prohibited and possession for the purpose of trafficking. The 20 year old male passenger and 19 year old female passenger were released at the scene.
