‘Barefooting’ on his first try!

Barefooting

11-year-old Cole accepted his uncle's challenge to water ski barefoot, and did it on the first try! (Photo by Brian Morley)

Eleven-year-old Cole Britton was born in New Westminster, British Columbia but has lived in Fairbanks, Alaska since 2000. In the winter, he loves to play hockey but every year, Cole and his sister, Summer, head back to British Columbia for a two-week vacation at Little Shuswap Lake with their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Cole spends his vacation water skiing, swimming and golfing but since he is only able to enjoy these sports for a short time each year, you would think that he might be a little bit rusty. Not so, however, as the reader can see by the photo.

The story is that Cole’s Uncle Brian took him in his boat to try ‘barefooting’ for the very first time and promised him that he would send a photo to the news media if Cole could barefoot off the short line on the boom. The young man is a great slolom skier and wakeboarder but this was a new challenge -– one that most people find extremely difficult. Uncle Brian captured the moment with his camera as Cole accomplished this feat on his very first attempt, absolutely amazing for an 11-year-old boy!

Way to go, Cole!
