If you are already dreaming of your next season’s camping trip to one of British Columbia’s beautiful provincial parks, you will be happy to know that you can reserve your favorite spot now! — and for an earlier date!
BC Parks has announced that its online reservation service is now open for business and is offering more reservable sites to choose from this year. In response to tremendous public enthusiasm, all group campsites and the Bowron Lake canoe circuit are open for reservations now and front-country campgrounds and the Berg Lake trail will be available two weeks earlier than usual, on March 15, 2011.
Now that the virtual doors are open you can expect to receive more timely service and fewer delays in processing your reservation for the popular holiday weekends as well, said BC Parks in a statement January 6.
Just go to the ‘Discover Camping’ website (https://secure.camis.com/Discovercamping/), select the type of reservation you want, your arrival date, which of the 80 reservable campgrounds you want and your site requirements. It’s that easy! Whether you are camping alone, with your family or a group of friends, you can book the site that is perfect for your summer camping experience.
The enhanced services have been made available as BC Parks is about to celebrate the 100th anniversary of its provincial parks this year and it will be working with community groups around the province to hold various events to mark the occasion. Strathcona Provincial Park on Vancouver Island was designated on March 1, 1911 as the first provincial park in the province.
You may prefer to use the call centre to book your reservation and, if so, phone 1-800-689-9025 or from overseas at +1 519-826-6850.
