Peter Julian warns about dangers of CETA

Part 1 - NDP International Trade Critic, Peter Julian, gives a detailed and critical analysis of this Agreement and the effects it will have on us and on our country. (Video by Small Town Films inc.)

On February 11, NDP international trade critic Peter Julian addressed a public forum in Nelson on CETA, a trade agreement that the Canadian government is negotiating with the European Union. The forum was hosted by the Nelson chapter of the Council of Canadians, and included local MP Alex Atamanenko (BC Southern Interior). You can watch the presentations of all 6 guest speakers on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/user/CETApublicforum

These videos were produced by Small Town Films inc., whose producer Miriam Needoba stresses the importance of understanding what is going on with CETA –

“We encourage you to take the time to find out more about this proposed Trade Agreement that the current government has put forward because this Agreement is putting Public Procurement on the table for the first time in Canadian Trade Agreement history! This means that the effects of CETA will be felt through all levels of government and society.

“It may also be worth noting that the only reason there is knowledge about CETA at all, is through bureaucratic leaks of documents. So information about CETA and its developments and negotiations are being kept secret, and information about it is being withheld from the public realm.

“Please … help spread some information about the Canadian European Trade Agreement known as CETA, so that we can be better informed about the dealings of our government.”
